At last! A dry skin cream that really works

At last! A dry skin cream that really works

The headline billing for Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter from Lush is that it’s a ‘super-thick cream’ that will cure your dry cuticles. But read the smaller print on the labels and you’ll find that it can also be used to ‘get to grips’ with dry skin anywhere on your body. That’s a big promise for a small pot.

So does it deliver?

Well, first things first, at least as far as I’m concerned. I’ve struggled with horribly (and horrible) dry cuticles for what seems like ever. I’ve tried a lot, and I do mean A LOT, of different cuticle oils and treatments over the years, and none of them have proved up to the task of dealing with the apparently irredeemably parched skin around my nails.

Until now.

Because it seems that Lemony Flutter is the product that has succeeded where all others before it have failed. I’ve been using it on my cuticles for just over a month now and they are genuinely transformed. Something I assure you I don’t say lightly.

I am now the proud possessor of a full set of hydrated cuticles for the first time in as long as I can remember. And all thanks to a small smear of this rich, zingly scented cream, gently massaged into the skin around each nail every night.

That ‘small smear’ is another unforeseen bonus of this miracle product. A little really does go a very long way. Which means that although the tub is fairly diminutive in size, at this rate it’s going to last for months. See below for a pic of a full tub on the left compared to the one I’ve been using for the past 5 weeks on the right.

A fresh pot on the left and, on the right, a pot that’s been used for five weeks.

And that’s with using the cream not just on my hands each night but, in the last three weeks, on the skin around my toe nails, as well as the previously dry bits around my heels and ankles. All of which have responded in the same transformed, soft-to-the-touch way. Honestly, it’s a wonder my feet don’t slide out of my shoes.

Oh, and just by the way, this isn’t a product that’s only for us women. Men can benefit just as much from its rich hydrating properties. My lovely bloke has struggled with dry skin on his feet for the longest time. I’ve started encouraging (alright, making) him use it on them each night and the difference is already significant.

Being a Lush product it contains all-natural ingredients, none of which are tested on animals. The pot is made from 100% recycled materials and can be returned to Lush to be reused. And in a delightful touch, the use-by label also shows you the name and face of the person who made the contents.

I’m definitely all a flutter over this brilliant lemony butter (see what I did there?) Give it a try and see if it converts you, and your dry skin, too.
